The art of music is so deep and profound that to approach it very seriously only is not enough. One must approach music with a serious rigor and, at the same time, with a great, affectionate joy.

I’m Mindy Denigan, but my students call me Miss Mindy.
“In the mastery of a task always lies the reward of self-confidence, and self-confidence is a much stronger motivator than fun. Mastery of a task means that the child has grown. What an incredible gift to give to a child—the gift of growth!”
- Daniel Coyle, “The Talent Code”
My mission is to guide students to be lifelong music makers and independent learners with a full musical toolbox filled with the necessarily foundational tools for creativity.
Such tools include :
- Understanding rhythm notation and note reading
- Listening and audiation skills
- Effective sight reading and improvisation skills
- And the life skill of knowing how to learn

I’m so thrilled with how far my son has come with you and more importantly how much you’ve fostered such a love of (good) music in him. You’re an awesome teacher because not many teachers can do that. If you remember, when I brought him to you, he wasn’t too excited about playing the piano because he’d been taught traditionally. It’s great he’s learning to play by ear (in addition to traditional).

My lessons are multi-sensory and collaborative, using many imaginative activities.
I provide tech tools for both follow-up practice at home and preparation for the next session.
My students are individuals who deserve to be treated as such.

Mindy is the teacher you want! She has used her many years of teaching to cultivate a unique teaching style that focuses on teaching musicality from day one. Mindy knows how to teach the same concept from many different perspectives so that young or old, everyone can learn how to play the piano!

An early start provides the opportunity for building an optimal foundation for learning music, as well as sensory stimulation for physical, mental, emotional, and social development.
Through music, students can experience benefits such as improved academic scores, enhanced language skills, high levels of self-control and discipline, as well as proven therapies for students with different learning styles.
For those of you who said, "I wish that I had never quit the piano...."
The human brain can learn new things at any age—you are not set in concrete! You are more held back by your fears and insecurities than by any inability.
I have available here a PDF titled "The Parent's Guide To Piano Practice Time." Learn what you can do to help your child get the most out of their piano lessons as they practice throughout the week.
